How does the CWB system help limit the spread of Corona?
The Corona Warning Beacon System shows unfiltered potential danger in contact tracking. In a group of people, such as a school, museum visitors or in a soccer stadium, many people come together. Contact tracing to break the chain of infection is only possible with the Corona Warning Beacon.

Where can the CWB system be used?
The system unfolds its full effectiveness where more people meet. Any large gathering of people is conceivable. In a large beer garden, among the spectators in a soccer stadium, in day-care centers, in schools, in after-school care centers, at any workplace or concert, during trade fairs or in a sports club, as well as in a museum. Any place can be protected where many people meet.

What is the relationship between the CWB system and the Corona Warn App?
The Corona Warn Beacon System is 100% self-sufficient and works perfectly in a closed system. The advantages to the Corona Warn app are 100% coverage and high accuracy. Technically, both systems are similar and data protection is also 100% secure.

How is my data protected?
The data is encrypted at the provider. The Corona Warning Beacon has no identity data stored and only provides random strings of numbers for identification. There is no exchange of personal data!

Where and how is the contact data stored?
The contact data remains with the provider. Example: At a soccer match, the ticket data is stored with the personal data at the ticket seller. The ticket seller already has the data due to the ticket sale. Accordingly, no additional data is collected and it is not passed on.

Can a carrier of a CWB be tracked by others?
A Corona Warning Beacon changes its identity every few minutes. Tracking is therefore not possible. Contact tracking seems to make sense in larger groups. If every person in the group changes his identity number every few minutes, it is impossible to find out who is carrying which CWB.

How long do the batteries last?
The batteries of the Corona Warning Beacon last for several months. Depending on the contact behavior, the battery holding time may vary. For standardized use, expect about 6 months.

What is the approximate cost of the CWB system per user?
The cost of the system depends on the number and size. How many gateways are needed, how many scanners would need to be installed, how many Corona warning beacons will be in use? There are differences if you use the system only on weekends for a Bundesliga match or in continuous use for a retirement home.
If you add set-up costs, edge server setup, nodes, travel costs, gateway, visualization costs, maintenance, hardware costs, server costs, installation, etc....

What is the delivery time of the CWB system?
The system is available at short notice within about 14 days. For large projects, the delivery time can be 4 to 6 weeks.
Can the CWBs also record contacts with the Corona Warn app?
The Corona Warn Beacons use very similar technology to the Corona Warn app. Optionally, for a small additional cost, we offer an open version that also records Corona Warn app contacts.

Is the system already in use?
The system has been running in a real test environment for months and is available in a final version. We are currently preparing the roll-out in a school near Munich.

What types of CWBs are there?
The Corona Warning Beacon comes in different housing variants. Currently, round, waterproof (IP67) are considered the ideal solution. However, other versions are also available at an additional cost.

Is there also a mobile app?
The Corona Warning Beacon System is platform-independent and low-maintenance. You do not have to worry about anything. Therefore, a mobile app is not necessary. You do not need to calibrate or adjust anything. Intuitively, you can use the CWB easily.

How do I ensure that the CWBs are being carried?
You can use the data to determine whether or not a Corona Warning Beacon is being worn.

Do I still need the CWB system now that vaccination is coming?
Vaccination is an important part of getting back to a normal life in the long run. Unfortunately, not everyone gets vaccinated and it takes a very long time for widespread vaccination to occur. In addition, the virus can mutate and make the vaccination ineffective.

What effort do I have with the maintenance of the system?
There is no additional effort with the system. Only in case of infection you have to be active to protect the possibly infected persons or to send them into quarantine.

To what extent does the system improve my hygiene concept?
The system complements your hygiene concept with anonymous contact information. Interruption of the infection chain is more efficient and faster. How can I continue to use the system when Corona is over?
The system can be used in many variants in the long term. In general, the Corona Warning Beacon can take on other functions. You can use it as a ticketing system, as a season ticket at soccer matches, as a ticket for public transport, or in daycare centers and schools for the general protection of children and young people. On a construction site to monitor civil engineering damage, in the supermarket and many other scenarios that have nothing to do with Covid19. Even in hospitals, monitoring patients and protecting employees is a clear application. In general, many logistics processes can be mapped transparently with the system. Industry 4.0 and IoT scenarios or even realizing wireless sensor data are easy to implement.

How accurate is the contact tracking?
The technology used offers high accuracy. Depending on the circumstance, the system can be accurate to a few centimeters. In real-world scenarios, accuracy may vary because the angles of the antennas or the shielding may be different. The individual contacts are highly accurate and error-free. If someone has had contact with an infected person, that contact is registered and is accurate. It is a system for contact tracing.

How does the assignment to the carrying persons take place?
When the Corona Warning Beacon is issued, the ticket data is married to the ID of the Corona Warning Beacon. The ID is encrypted and the data is untraceable via the changing data packets. Only the provider knows which Corona-Warn-Beacon belongs to which ticket. In case of infection, the encrypted data can be assigned and the ticket owner can be informed.

What happens if someone is infected?
In case an infected person had contact with other persons, a contact log to the infected person is created, so that all relevant persons can be warned. It is therefore possible to break the chain of infection in a very short time. Since the contacts can be tracked in a real and measurable way, the work of the health authorities can also be targeted and expeditious.
